MCC Presents Award-winning Documentary Filmmaker Byron Hurt


On Wednesday, Feb. 16, acclaimed documentary filmmaker Byron Hurt will present “Understanding Culture through Alternative Methods of Expression” at the Damon City Campus at noon.

At 7 p.m. that evening, Hurt will discuss his award-winning documentary, “Beyond Beats and Rhymes” in MCC’s Brighton Campus Theatre. He will also be detailing his newest project – a documentary that focuses on soul food, nutrition and wellness in communities of color entitled, “Soul Food Junkies.” Hurt’s presentation will feature clips from both films. A question and answer session will immediately follow.
