Support parents and caregivers of infants through United Way and 292-BABY

In yesterday’s Tribune Pat Bates and Annette Agness shared the United Way’s “Blueprint for Change – Early Childhood” with the goal of ensuring that every child get a good start in life.  We know that the first three years of any infant’s life has long-term implications.  As president of 292-BABY, I was active in helping to develop that blueprint.

Please help us. Consider giving to the United Way and selecting 292-BABY’s donor designation #2406.  292-BABY is a large community collaboration administered by MCC.

Your support will allow us to continue our core support services, as well as add new options for 2009.

Our current core support is in three areas:

·         292-BABY (292-2229) is a phone number that parents and caregivers can call daily from 7:00 am to midnight and talk free to a pediatric nurse on any non-emergency concern. (Sunday 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.)

·         292-BABY Television  - Monday through Friday from 8:00 – 10:00 pm on Cable Channel 4 where we broadcast our 100+ educational videos related to the first three years of life. These videos are a gift to our community from Greater Rochester’s early childhood community and MCC.

·         HYPERLINK <https://www.292baby.org" – our website which provides access to chat rooms for parents and caregivers organized by developmental stages.

o   NEW – Beginning this April, we will begin to make our 100+ educational videos available on demand on the <<https://www.292baby.org>> website. This includes a wide range of 20-minute videos covering topics from what you need to know when you come home with new baby - to choosing quality care - to deciding when to go to solid food as well as series on breastfeeding (including Dr. Ruth Lawrence), immunizations and adoption. These videos are helpful to all but especially for adults who are challenged readers.

o   NEW Productions – we continue to produce new videos at our studio at the Damon City Campus.

Please help us support Rochester’s infants by supporting those who care for them.

292 –BABY’s United Way Donor Designation is #2406.
