New code added to Degree Works Advising Notes

The Degree Works Advising Notes Manual has been updated to include a new code -SEP *Plan Created* Please select this code from the drop down box when a plan is created in the Student Educational Planner.

The updated manual is located on the bottom of the Professional Development tab in myMCC and is attached to this message. Please make sure as you advise students, notes are captured in Degree Works.

Why take notes?

  • Creates a record of student's advising contacts and advice provided
  • Creates institutional memory
  • Increases advisor efficiency and effectiveness
  • Refreshes advisor memory prior to return visits and helps when planning next steps
  • Communicates critical information to other College personnel
  • Personalizes the advising experience
