Take Steps Be Heard for Crohns & Colitis Walk June 12 at MCC

The American Association of Women in Community Colleges-MCC Chapter is proud to support the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America’s Take Steps Be Heard for Crohns and Colitis Walk at MCC on Saturday, June 12th, 2010. We hope you will save the date and consider joining “MCC Team Crohnies” for a casual 2-3 mile stroll at MCC’s Brighton Campus that will raise money for crucial research that wouldn’t have been possible a few short years ago. Last year’s event was a lot of fun, highly successful and attracted hundreds of people to the campus.

According to the CCFA, Crohns disease is a chronic (ongoing) disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive or gastrointestinal (GI) tract.  Although it can involve any area of the GI tract from the mouth to the anus, it most commonly affects the small intestine and/or colon.  Crohns and a related disease, ulcerative colitis, are the two main disease categories that belong to a larger group of illnesses called inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).  For more information on Crohns and Colitis please visit https://www.ccfa.org/info/about/crohns.

The AAWCC-MCC Chapter encourages you to save the date to join our team and the fight against Crohns and Colitis.  There are many opportunities to get involved:  join the team and walk, donate, or volunteer the day of the walk.  For more information please contact Courtney Bellucio, Campus Events, at: <"mailto:cbelluccio@monroecc.edu"> or click on the link to the team page below to sponsor Courtney and/or join MCC Team Chronies.
