The Aspen Institute to highlight MCC in upcoming "Workforce Playbook."

MCC's Economic Development and Innovative Workforce Services division was selected as one of 6 institutions to be featured in a new report called a "Workforce Playbook" that will examine best practices that community colleges may use to assist students in securing jobs with family-sustaining wages while meeting the needs of regional employers within a local economy. This report will explore employer and other community partnerships, advising strategies, labor market data analysis, curriculum, and other related topics. As part of conducting the research for this new report, the Aspen Institute sent five representatives to the campus on April 11th and 12th where they conducted interviews with a variety of MCC staff, faculty and students, as well as several business and external partners.

The report is expected to be published in early fall 2018.

This study is sponsored as part of the Aspen Institute's College Excellence Program (CEP) which aims to advance practices, policies and leadership that significantly improve student outcomes in higher education. CEP works to improve colleges' understanding and capacity to educate and graduate students, particularly in light of growing low income and minority populations on American college campuses.
