Students, Faculty, & Staff Raise Funds for Immaculee Ilibagiza’s Left to Tell Charitable Fund

By now you have noticed the replica of the bathroom in the Campus Center Atrium created by the Holocaust Genocide Studies Project (HGSP) students.  The bathroom is a replica of the 4x3 foot bathroom Immaculee Ilibagiza spent 91 days in with 7 other women during the Rwandan Genocide.

On April 1st between 1:00pm and 3:00pm, in ten-minute time slots, student, staff and faculty volunteers will spend time in the bathroom with 7 other people to raise funds for Immaculee Ilibagiza's Left to Tell Charitable Fundraiser.   After surviving this tragic event, Ilibagiza vowed to raise money to help not only orphaned children in Rwanda, but children of Africa to build better lives.  On April 21st, when Ilibagiza speaks to the college community, the HGSP students will present her with a check.

Student leaders are still looking for both volunteers and sponsors.  If you are interested in volunteering to raise funds by spending ten minutes in the bathroom, or if you would like to support the students by sponsoring someone who has already volunteered please email Ashley Wood at <<mailto:awood075@student.monroecc.edu>>
