The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks Book Discussions

Join members of the Common Read Committee for the last brown bag book discussion for this semester.  These informal presentations allow for good conversation as well as the opportunity to share your impressions and opinions as we begin to explore the life of Henrietta Lacks.

We will be discussing the spring book buddy program and future TCC events focusing on the book.

The Common Read program will be an integral part of the Student Success Collaborate (SSC-Orientation, First Year Experience, and College Success Course) outlined in the Title III; Building a Culture of Engagement and Success project.  This program will occur in phases, the first phase, slated for the 2013-2014 academic year, involves recruiting and preparing faculty from a wide array of disciplines.  With support from the TCC, we are planning workshops, discussions, and other professional development activities so that when the Common Read is in place for the 2014-2015 academic year, students will benefit from an already-engaged faculty committed to the project.

The next TCC sessions will be held on:

Monday, December 9, 2013 from 12:00-12:50 p.m. in the Brighton Campus Teaching and Creativity Center, 12-201

Monday, December 9, 2013 from 12:00-12:50 p.m. in the Damon City Campus Teaching and Creativity Center, 5-091
