Ren Square Public Hearing Set for Thursday

An Environmental Assessment Public Hearing on the Renaissance Square project will be held Thursday, January 8 at the Hyatt Regency Rochester, 125 E. Main St.

Individuals interested in making a public comment can do so by registering immediately prior to the open hearing. Registrations will be accepted between 6 and 7 p.m. The registration table will be located at the entrance to the hearing room (second floor of the Hyatt).

Inside the hearing room, a general information area with drawings of the selected design will be open from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Staff from SWBR and LaBella will be available to answer questions about the design. However, comments made here are not part of the public hearing.

The public hearing at 7 pm will begin with a formal presentation followed by the public comment period. Only individuals who register in advance will be invited to comment. Individuals will be called in the order they registered and will have a limit of three minutes, so that others have the opportunity to comment as well. This is an opportunity for the community to comment on the Renaissance Square project; project representatives will not engage in any form of discussion or debate. Responses to the public comments will be provided in written form as part of the FTA findings document. Additional comments may be submitted via email or posted mail (see attached). All oral and written comments will be included in the public record.

The public hearing will end when every registered person has commented. People will not be allowed to comment more than once. If they wish to provide additional comments they may do so in writing.
