Seeking Women on the Move!

“I realize that I have to go out and do my best in making my life better.  It is up to me, especially when there are many resources out there to help.”

“I’ve learned that I need to work smarter, not harder. Save, save, save. Perform, perform, and perform. Work on communicating effectively!"

The comments above are from women in the "Women on the Move" program, when asked what they have learned as a result of their participation in this program!  As you work with new and returning students this fall, keep in mind this very well-received program for working women!

"Women on the Move," going into its third semester, is a collaboration with Catholic Family Center (CFC) to provide services for working women to enhance their educational and economic potential, funded by the Women's Foundation of the Genesee Valley.  This program addresses specific barriers to success, including job skills, child care, housing, transportation, and more.

We are accepting students into this program for Fall 2007; participants will enroll in CDL 101, Career and Life Planning for Returning Adult Students, taught at DCC.  CDL 101 will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 12:30-1:50.

Participants will also receive mentoring, individual counseling and goal-setting sessions, and the opportunity to participate in additional programs and services offered by MCC and CFC.

Interested students should call DCC Student Services at 262-1753 and request a meeting with Jesi Miller, or email Jesi at <
mailto:jmiller2@monroecc.edu> to determine if they are eligible to participate in the program.

Please help us identify prospective students!  You can give them the attached flyer for information.

Thanks!
