Scholarship Opportunities Offered Through the Department of Mathematics

      The MCC Mathematics Department offers three different scholarships each year:

The "https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/math/scholarships.htm#raf#raf"Robert A. Fratangelo Memorial Scholarship

The "https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/math/scholarships.htm#porter#porter"Stuart R. Porter and Joyce R. Porter Endowed Scholarship

The "https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/math/scholarships.htm#jzw#jzw"Jan Z. Wiranowski Endowed Scholarship 

Although individual scholarship requirements vary, student may qualify for at least one scholarship if he/she:

Is a current student at MCC
Has completed at least 24 credit hours at MCC
Has completed math courses above MTH 160 or Calculus 1
Has a GPA of 2.7 or higher (with a math GPA of 3.0 or higher)
Plans to major in mathematics or a math-related field

Ø      There is also a new scholarship opportunity this year:

The Renaissance Scholarship Endowed by Jan Wiranowski

The criteria for this scholarship are broad and flexible. The scholarship is designed both for candidates with a traditional academic background, as well as for those with an out-of-ordinary academic trail.

Complete applications with essays and recommendations are due in the Mathematics Department Office no later than 4:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2008.
