AAWCC to Host 2011 Service Day Wednesday, March 2

The Monroe Community College Chapter of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges is pleased to invite you to visit a showcase of Volunteer Service Organizations from Greater Rochester.  The organizations include Heritage Christian Services, Autism Speaks, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Alternatives for Battered Women, Multiple Sclerosis Society,  Children Awaiting Parents, Gilda’s Club, Touch of Love, Ronald McDonald House, and AAWCC.  All will provide displays with information regarding the work they do on behalf of our community.  This is a day of information sharing and a learning.

The Service Committee of AAWCC has undertaken this event to provide an opportunity for our college community to spotlight the amazing work that these organizations provide and offer those who visit the fair beneficial information to use themselves or to share with family and friends.

Additionally, we would like to acquaint you with a new organization called Touch of Love and Guidance.  This organization co-directed by Janna Davenport ((Office of Student Life and Leadership Development) works to provide, through drive activities, items (either new or gently used) that would be of help Teen Moms raising children.   We will be adding this organizations needs list to our Spring Clothing Drive in April.

Our event begins at 10 am and runs through 2 pm in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center Atrium.  Please stop by and join in this opportunity to network.

For questions please contact Janna Davenport, Sharon Insero (Health Professions) or Courtney Belluccio (Campus Events) .
