Let Our Students Know They are Welcome Here!

#YouAreWelcomeHere Video and Poster Campaign

Come and show your support for international diversity on our campus by creating a short video message welcoming international and immigrant students to MCC!

More than 30 U.S. colleges and universities have joined together to offer welcoming messages to prospective international students and scholars who may be apprehensive about future study or research in the United States in the wake of the current political climate. The #YouAreWelcomeHere movement aims to amplify the importance of diversity and international collaboration on U.S. campuses. Spearheaded by Temple University <https://www.temple.edu/>  in Philadelphia, the campaign is backed by a number of US universities that have produced videos of faculty members, staff and students inviting international students to campus.

See Buffalo State University’s message here: <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBnu4hYX-FQ>

The videos are not envisioned to be a political statement rather they are intended to quell anxieties that prospective students may have about discrimination, safety and the friendliness of US university campuses, following the anti-immigration rhetoric expressed over the recent months.

Come and join your voice with other MCC students, faculty, and staff to send out a message to our international community that they are welcome here! And make a poster to show our current international and immigrant students they are welcome here! There will be a prize for the best poster!!

Join us for pizza & music!!
