RPN Hosts Infant-Toddler Conference

A two-day conference featuring presenters from Zero To Three, the nation’s leading resource on the first three years of life, was held on November 5 and 6, 2004 at the Damon City Campus. This event, funded by United Way and hosted by Rochester Parent Network, is the first collaboration between Rochester Parent Network and Workforce Development. Nearly 100 infant and toddler practitioners, program administrators, and agency personnel participated in discussion and activities surrounding the main topics of attachment, relationships, primary caregiving and continuity of care.

This landmark conference represents a major step toward educating and supporting professionals in the delivery of high quality infant-toddler care and its impact will be felt by over 700 children and families in Monroe, Wayne, Ontario, Orleans, and Livingston Counties.

Jim Coffey, VaPA and president of Rochester Parent Network, was master of ceremonies and gave the opening address and closing remarks. Mary Louise Musler, executive director of Rochester Parent Network, provided registration and marketing support and worked in cooperation with Jennifer Alfieri of Workforce Development to ensure the success of this

conference.
