Laurie Snyder, DCC Retention Advisor, presented "Student Retention in Community Colleges: the Issues, Implications and Strategies for Success" at the National Symposium on Student Retention in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 1, 2008.
Snyder's research paper, which was accepted for presentation at the Symposium, focuses on America's promise of opportunity for every individual and the direct correlation between educational attainment and opportunity. In her presentation, Snyder discussed the individual and societal impact of attrition, in addition to effective strategies in retaining students, thereby benefitting the individual, institute of higher learning and society at large.
