Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has directed that flags be flown at half-staff on Friday, July 22 in honor of a New York City Marine who died on July 17.
Lance Corporal Jabari N. Thompson, from Brooklyn, died of wounds sustained July 13 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
