The Write Stuff: Designing and Evaluating Writing Assignments for the Non-English Teacher - Conversations at the TCC - TODAY

"When I assign writing in a course other than English, what percent of the evaluation should be on grammar, spelling, and sentence construction?  How do I design my writing assignments so that I'll get both the content and the quality of writing that I expect?  I'm concerned that it will take me too long to evaluate writing assignments." Sound familiar? Tony Leuzzi (Writing Across the Curriculum coordinator) will facilitate a discussion of these topics and share a variety of strategies and ideas that will address these issues.  This conversation is open to ALL faculty members, regardless of their department or whether they teach writing intensive courses, who would enjoy an informal discussion regarding how to create successful writing assignments and how to approach evaluating them.

Join us today (Oct. 13), 3:30 – 4:20 PM in 2-315.
