Update on our Search for a Permanent Site for our Downtown Campus

As our discussions continue surrounding possible permanent locations for our downtown campus, local media outlets have periodically reported sites that are believed to be on our short list. And now they also are reporting sites that are believed to be off our short list.  As I have noted repeatedly, until all questions are answered and a purchase agreement is in place, no single property is on or off the list and it is premature to discuss any specific sites.

The Board of Trustees met on Friday, October 15 to continue these discussions. Chairman Kenneth Goode joins me in conveying to you that the process is ongoing; we continue to look for the best possible site for our diverse community of students and the wisest possible investment for taxpayers. We want MCC to be a community institution that brings even greater benefits to Monroe County and its students, taxpayers, businesses, economic developers, colleges and universities, and civic and cultural institutions.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or Pete Otero, executive dean of the Damon City Campus.
