Assistant Director of FBI Cyber Division to be Keynote Speaker at HSMI National Conference

Assistant Director Gordon Snow is scheduled to be this year’s Homeland Security Management Institute National Conference keynote speaker on August 10, 2010. Director Snow leads the FBI’s efforts to protect the U.S. against cyber-based attacks and high technology crimes. The FBI considers the cyber threat against our nation to be one of the greatest concerns of the 21st century and is one of the FBI’s highest criminal priority.

Director Snow possesses a broad range of investigative and leadership experience. Previously, he served in the Critical Incident Response Group Hostage Rescue Team where he took part in several sensitive rendition missions, conducted terrorism assessments and, following the attacks on the USS Cole in Yemen and the embassies in Nairobi and Kenya, he provided assessment, protection and investigative support.

In 2001, he joined the Counterintelligence Division’s Middle East unit and in 2003 supervised the foreign counterintelligence program serving as the SWAT program coordinator in the Detroit Division. In 2005 Snow was appointed Chief of Weapons of  Mass Destruction and Acquisition of U.S. Nuclear and Missile Technology unit at FBI Headquarters.

In 2007, Snow served in Afghanistan as the FBI’s on-scene Commander for the Counterterrorism Division and upon his return was appointed as the section chief in the Cyber Division and was detailed to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

MCC is indeed fortunate to host such a distinguished speaker for this year’s conference. Additional information about this year’s conference is being planned.
