Channel 10 News Spotlights Art Exhibit

Janet Lomax, co-anchor of News 10NBC (WHEC), highlighted The Freedom Place Collection exhibit at MCC in her segment, “Best Seat in the House,” in the 5:30 p.m. broadcast Wednesday. The segment included interviews with Kathy Farrell, director of Mercer Gallery. As an aside, gratitude goes to Carol Adams, dean of Interdisciplinary Programs, for her help in spreading the word about this remarkable exhibit to the Rochester community.

The Freedom Place Collection is a major exhibition of rarely seen works of five African-American artists. The art collection is on display until Feb. 27 in celebration of Black History Month and as part of MCC’s commitment to foster greater awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion in society. The exhibit is free and open to the public. For a schedule of events, go to "
