NUR 110 with C*#
The program of study must be completed within five years of matriculation. NUR 150is required for transfer students, students admitted with advanced standing, and students returning to the program after an absence of one year. Completion of NUR 150 is valid for one year. Students re-entering NUR 111 do not need to take NUR 150. NUR 150 cannot be used as an elective. Any deviation from the basic program of study requires written approval by the dept. Completion of Medical requirements, clearance of existing health problem(s) and ability to meet essential functions (physical & mental demands) of the program and vaccination against seasonal flu & Hepatitis B & meningitis vaccination or required waivers for admission & continuation in the Nursing program. Medical requirements, including PPD (or acceptable evidence of freedom from communicability, chest x-ray or results of quantiferon blood test), Varicella vaccination (or history of disease or positive yearly titer) immunization's must be met throughout the duration of the program in order for the student to attend clinical. Nursing is a high demand, competitive program. Readmission to the Nursing Program is not automatic and is dependent on several factors. Students seeking readmission to the program (or seeking admission after unsuccessful attempts in a nursing program at another college) should contact the Department of Nursing for information or refer to the "MCC Department of Nursing Student Related Policies" located on the Department of Nursing website. Readmission, if approved is always on a space available basis. Current CPR Certification for two person professional rescuer, which includes infant, child, adult, and automated external defibrillator (AED) is required for all students. Only American Heart Association, BLS for Health Care Providers (CPR & AED) or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer (CPR & AED) Certification is acceptable. Proof of certification must be submitted to the department at least one month prior to starting the program. Current certification must be maintained throughout the duration of program. Students need to complete any TRS or ESL courses prior to enrollment in the program. Student must have current health insurance to participate in the Nursing Program. The fee for health insurance will be added to tuition if students do not provide proof of insurance prior to the start of program.
#A grade of 'C' required in all Nursing and Biology courses for continued matriculation. No student may progress to the next nursing course level without successful completion of all courses in previous level. A student who fails to achieve a C in the fourth semester nursing course will be ineligible for graduation.
Total = 64 credit hours required for NU01/NU02/NU03/NUE1/NUE2 degree. 2.00 CQPA minimum for graduation.
F grades do not fulfill requirement. 24 credit hours in residence = courses completed at MCC.
