Counseling Services

Monroe Community College’s Counseling Center (CC) provides support to students by defining and accomplishing personal, academic, and career goals. The CC is committed to providing a professional and confidential setting for the psychological, emotional, and developmental support of students as they pursue academic goals and explore personal growth and development. The Counseling Center supports the learning environment of the College by promoting positive mental health for students through individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, consultation and referral, assessment, and outreach programming that are responsive to the individual, cultural and demographic diversity of MCC students. The CC is also a resource for faculty and staff to assist with their interactions with students to promote a widespread campus approach to fostering personal, social, and academic learning and development. To accomplish the above the CC provides:

  • Individual and group counseling services to students who maybe experiencing psychological, behavioral, or learning difficulties
  • Programming focusing on the developmental needs of students to maximize their potential to benefit from the academic environment
  • Consulting services to the institution to help foster an environment supportive of the intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and physical development of students
  • Advocacy for a healthy and diverse learning community
  • Assessment services to identify and address student needs through the development of appropriate services and referrals
  • Crisis support
