MARK R. KULZER ’76
President and Founder Klein Reinforcing Services Inc.
Nominated by Michael A. Krupnicki ’85

Entrepreneur whose work reinforces community structures.

Months after Mark Kulzer graduated from MCC with an associate in applied science degree in civil technology, a caring MCC professor contacted him and arranged a job interview that helped start Mark’s career as a draftsman at Allied Rochester.

A resident of Rush, N.Y., Mark joined Klein Metal Company in 1980 specifically to manage Klein’s reinforcing bar fabrication service. Building on his solid educational foundation, Mark became a confident professional. Eleven years later, he acquired the rebar fabrication division and became president and founder of Klein Reinforcing Services. Today, the company is considered the largest supplier/fabricator of reinforcing bars in Monroe and surrounding counties. His company reinforces structures throughout Upstate New York and has completed projects in North Carolina, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

A member of the MCC Foundation’s President’s Circle, Mark stays connected with MCC as a guest speaker and supporter of the Foundation’s Gold Star Gala and Scholarship Open. He gives back to the community as a member of the American Association of Subcontractors and received a lifetime achievement award this past March from the Builders Exchange of Rochester.
