Monthly Highlights

The Disability Services offers occasional drop-in events and workshops throughout the semester. To find out more information about our upcoming events, please contact our office.

Be sure to check back at a later date to learn more about the following events:

If you need to improve your study skills, if you get nervous on exams, or if you feel overwhelmed by the demands placed upon your time, you are encouraged to attend, free of charge, a SOS workshop hosted by the Counseling Center and Disability Services office. Students who have participated in SOS workshops in the past have demonstrated reduced test anxiety as well as improved study habits and academic achievement.

  • How to relax during exams and focus on the questions that are asked.
  • Study skills techniques.
  • How to manage and budget time.
  • Test sophistication: knowing how to take different types of examinations.
  • How to set and evaluate goals.
  • Strategies used to increase motivation.
  • Tips for promoting positive mental health and coping.

Stress Relief Fridays are designed to be fun and lighthearted opportunities for students to meet each other, as well as Counseling Center and Disability Services team members, to engage in simple and positive activities, and to learn about various stress relief strategies. While these drop-ins are not designed to serve as therapy or processing groups, group norms will be discussed to ensure that all information that is shared is kept confidential. All students are welcomed to join for all or just a portion of the hour-long sessions.
