Purpose

The Division of Student Services is committed to enhancing the mission of Monroe Community College by:

  • Advancing student success by providing services, programs, and activities that are specifically designed to support students' basic needs, promote health and wellness, and encourage inclusivity and social responsibility;
  • Building engaging environments by offering opportunities that support the multiple dimensions of student learning (physiological, social, emotional, cognitive, and developmental);
  • Creating intentional partnerships with other areas of the College and external constituents to provide the groundwork for a focused and purposeful learning community for students

2019-2020 Strategic Directions for Student Services

1. Food and Housing Insecurity
Monroe Community College is a leader in addressing issues of basic needs insecurity, but we are challenged to do more.  Student Services offices are tasked with ensuring that all staff are aware of resources and trained to evaluate and assist students in need.

2. Student Engagement
Monroe Community College recognizes the significance of student engagement in student success and persistence.

3. Expansion of Services
Monroe Community College acknowledges the importance of creating intentional services that meet the needs of ALL students.  Student Services offices are tasked with evaluating service hours and methods of delivery to meet market demand.

4. Technology
Monroe Community College is committed to leveraging technology to advance services and access to information.  Student Services offices are tasked with evaluating and optimizing the use of technology to provide students and staff with relevant and timely information that can assist with guiding their decision making.
