Enrollment Management, Marketing, Web and Social Media, MCC Foundation awarded Lumina Grant

In spring 2022, a team from Enrollment Management and Marketing, Web and Social Media with support from our Foundation, applied for Lumina’s Million Dollar Community College Challenge grant.  Lumina’s challenge for community colleges, is to prioritize brand marketing, especially to adult learners.  The Lumina Foundation, is an independent foundation that strives for racial equity as it helps all Americans keep learning beyond high school.

MCC was awarded a grant of $50,000 that will be used to develop academic program video content, strategically designed to show potential students why MCC is exceptional, to showcase our outstanding academic programs, and to connect MCC with our community.  We anticipate using the videos on our website, in our marketing campaigns, through our social media, and imbedded in student communication.  

This is MCC's first Lumina award. Lumina praised MCC for our unique strategy in wanting to transform our marketing and recruitment efforts by expanding the use of video, and improving the web experience for prospective MCC students, in an effort to increase enrollment. 

Deb Davis, Director of Marketing, Web and Social Media will serve as project lead for the Lumina Award.
