New Date and Time: COS 181 Mentor Interest Meeting

The ESOL/TRS department is continuing to pilot an academic recovery course, Strategies for Academic Success-COS 181, in fall 2023. This course is designed for students who are striving to achieve Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and to advance in their program of study.

A key component to this course will be a connection with a mentor in the College community. A mentor is a positive influence in a student’s life who helps students discover answers, find alternate solutions, and brainstorm needed resources. The mentor’s role is that of a supporter and guide.  Mentors and their students will meet (in person, by phone, through email, or virtually) throughout the semester to check in on the student’s wellbeing and progress. Anyone who works at the College is eligible to volunteer to be a mentor.

To indicate your interest, please complete the COS 181 Mentor Interest Survey for Fall 2023.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to a scheduling conflict, the original date and time for this session has been changed. Please join us for a COS 181 Mentor Interest meeting on Zoom Wednesday, June 14 from 12:00-1:00 pm.

If you have questions about this opportunity, please email Renee Dimino (rdimino@monroecc.edu)
