Presidential Search

In December 2020, Monroe Community College successfully completed its search for its sixth president! The State University of New York and the MCC Board of Trustees considered this endeavor to be of the utmost importance to the ongoing success of the College. MCC’s Incoming President Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna will be charged with leading the College to new levels of excellence and innovation to benefit students, fulfilling the College’s mission, and embracing opportunities to partner with leaders to promote regional economic development and global engagement.

  • Announce Officers-in-Charge (selected by MCC Board of Trustees)
  • Announce Interim President (appointed by State University of New York)
  • Develop qualifications and distribute Request for Information for Search Consultant/Firm

  • Convene Presidential Search Advisory Committee
  • Gather community input (open forums, surveys) to inform search materials
  • Select Search/Consultant Firm
  • Appoint Presidential Search Committee

  • Finalize MCC Presidential Search Profile and job description
  • Develop marketing plan and materials to support a national search

  • Launch Search
  • Conduct on-site Interviews
  • Conduct background checks
  • Select candidate
  • Negotiate contract
  • Plan for transition
