MCC's Engineering Science and Physics Department will host its annual mini Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Statewide Competition on Friday, May 3, 2019 at MCC's PAC Center field house, located in the Stabins Physical Education Complex on the Brighton Campus, 1000 East Henrietta Road, Rochester

Competing students have designed and built UAVs ("drones") to transport a rescue kit through a series of obstacles and return to the starting point. To qualify, the UAV must be able to maneuver around and through obstacles, change altitude and carry/deposit a payload to the proper drop zone, then navigate back to the starting zone. The course simulates a rescue delivery where human navigation is difficult or dangerous. The tentative schedule includes:

9:00 am - 10:00 am Team Check In and Set Up

10:00 am - 11:30 am Poster Session

11:30 am - Noon Lunch/test run

12:00 pm - 2:00 pm UAV competition

2:00 pm - 2:30 pm Awards ceremony
