The First Year Faculty Series (FYFS) is a series of monthly seminars for new full-time faculty facilitated by members of MCC’s Teaching & Creativity Center. The College’s expectation is that first year faculty’s highest priority is on their teaching. To support you in this, the purpose of the FYFS is to strengthen instructional practice and develop reflective habits. You will learn and apply “backwards design,” a standard practice of teaching in higher education.  Our cohort will use the Critical Friends model to practice reflection in order to strengthen instruction.  By the end of the FYFS, participants will develop the iterative habit of teaching, reflecting and adjusting to improve teaching and student success. FYFS meets on Fridays once a month from 3 – 5 pm.  This month's zoom meeting will be from 3 - 4:30 pm.
