The book Grading for Growth, written by two mathematics professors, is billed as A Guide to Alternative Grading Practices That Promote Authentic Learning and Student Engagement in Higher Education and was the focus of a TCC Book Group this past spring. Join Tracey Graney on Wednesday, November 13, 12:00 to 12:50pm, in the TCC or on Zoom, to discuss the fundamental principles of alternative grading practices presented in the book and why we should consider moving away from “traditional” point-based grading. The discussion will include examples of alternative grading systems already being used by MCC colleagues.
