Please join the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project for a viewing of Hate Rising (2016) 3:30 pm, Wednesday, March 14 in High Falls A & B at the Downtown Campus. This event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in Lot CC.

This 50-minute documentary by award-winning journalist Jorge Ramos, includes rare, exclusive access to the Neo-Nazi, Ku Klux Klan and "Alt-Right" movements and shines a "light on the astonishing and very concerning rise of hate in America."The film viewing will be followed by discussion be led by Margaret Rex, a Ph.D. candidate within the Sociology Department at University at Buffalo, who has an interest in the intersection between race, social class and anti-government attitudes, political participation. Margaret is completing her dissertation on research she has done about extreme far-right and far-left groups, specifically anti-government militia. She will present briefly on her research and answer questions about the rise in hate crimes and hate speech.
