6th MCC well drilled in South Sudan
Thanks to the MCC community, MCC's Holocaust, Genocide, & Human Rights
Project has sponsored the drilling of another well in South Sudan. Located at
the Atido Primary Health Care Unit, the well, the sixth the project has helped
fund, is dedicated to Rochester's Holocaust survivors in honor of the project's
30th year.
Since 2005, MCC's #HGHR
P has raised money to support Water for South Sudan, which was founded by
MCC alumnus Salva Dut. Each day, hundreds of thousands of Sudanese walk for
hours through the desert to collect water that is often contaminated with
parasites and bacteria. Water for South Sudan drills wells that help prevent
disease and bring peace to villages - and the people who live there. We are
proud of our #HGHR
P members and donors who continue to exhibit their dedication to making
South Sudan -- and the world -- a better place.
