Mathematics Professor Steve Kilner's Publications
Please join me in congratulating Professor of Mathematics Steve Kilner on
publishing several articles throughout the 2021-2022 academic year. One
publication, S. J. Kilner and D. L. Farnsworth (2022). Establishing and
Maintaining a Monthly Math Puzzler for Everyone’s Participation,
MathAMATYC Educator 13 (3, Spring) 27 – 31, highlighted the MCC
Mathematics Department's monthly math puzzler where anyone could enjoy solving
the puzzler at their own pace. I hope the Math Puzzler, on pause due to COVID,
will soon return to provide engagement and a sense of community among those who
work on the puzzles.
Two additional publications report Steve's theoretical work in mathematics:
S. J. Kilner and D. L. Farnsworth (2021). Pairing Theorems about Parabolas
through Duality, The Mathematical Gazette 105 (3, November) (Whole
Number 564) 385–396 and S. J. Kilner and D. L. Farnsworth (2021).
Parabolic Coordinates, The Mathematical Gazette 105 (2, July) (Whole
Number 563) 226–236. I hope that Steve's example of life-long
learning and love of math inspire his students with a sense that math is a
dynamic discipline with more to discover and apply.
