AAWCC Presents the Artistry of Athesia Benjamin - A visual voice
The MCC Chapter of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges
(AAWCC) is pleased to showcase one of our very own, Assistant Professor, VAPA,
Athesia Benjamin!
Join us on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 4 p.m. via zoom to learn more about
Professor Benjamin's current project involving the creation of large scale
paintings of women of color.
Athesia has been producing engaging works of art for 25 years using a
variety of mediums, such as paint, graphite, clay and photography. She is also
an active contributor to the MCC community, inspiring students through the
courses she teaches in drawing and painting.
This project was made possible through Athesia's award of an Artist grant
and the support of the MCC Foundation. We hope you can come learn about
Professor Benjamin's journey for this exciting project and the details of her
approach. Athesia provides dynamic energy and will share more with us about how
her voice is expressed through art!
