Please note that some courses required in a 2+2 Transfer Pathway may not be required for the MCC program. This could have financial aid implications. Students should meet with their advisor or with a transfer representative to discuss an academic plan and recommended sequence of courses.

Directions:
1. Choose one SUNY Fredonia major from the list below.

2. Use your MCC Degree Works Worksheet, the major courses listed below, and the
SUNY Fredonia Transfer Course Equivalency database (if needed) to choose courses to take at MCC. Note that Fredonia requires students earn a C or higher in all courses required for your major.

3. Carefully read the notes below; contact your MCC advisor or Fredonia if you have questions.


4. Apply to SUNY Fredonia via the online SUNY application the semester before you complete your degree at MCC.

BIOLOGY BIO 155, 156, 230, and BIO 265 or 266; CHE 151, 152, 251, 252; MTH 161 or MTH 200 or MTH 210.
Recommended: Physics sequence: PHY 145 & 146 or PHY 161 & 261 (or can be taken at Fredonia
BIOCHEMISTRY CHE 151, 152, 251, 252; MTH 210, 211; BIO 155, 156, 230. PHY 161, 261 or PHY 145,146.

Students must earn a C- or higher in all Chemistry and Biology courses.
CHEMISTRY CHE 151, 152, 251, 252; MTH 210, 211; PHY 161, 261.

Optional: select one of the following electives for transfer to the major as upper level credit: BIO 209, 221, 260.
COMMUNICATION DISORDERS AND SCIENCES MTH 160, PSY 101, BIO 133, and a CHE or PHY course to satisfy SUNY Gen Ed natural science. The following are recommended electives: PSY 201, SPC 140, 141, 142, SOC 101.
One semester of a foreign language that satisfies SUNY General Education (ASL 101 or 102 will also satisfy this requirement).

A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for students seeking admission the Communications Disorders and Sciences programs.
EARTH SCIENCE CHE 151, 152; GEO 101, 102; MTH 160 or 161; MTH 200 or 210.

Recommended: GEO 105, 106 or 203. Choose one sequence: PHY 145 & 146 or PHY 161 & 261. The Physics sequence can be completed at Fredonia.
ECONOMICS ECO 111, 112; MTH 160, and MTH 200 or 210.
ENGLISH Students should select one course from each of the following categories:

Literary Genres
: ENG 114,115, 214, 215, 220, 223, 224, 230.
Literature and Identities:
ENG 210, 216, 217, 226.
Literary History I
(Broad): ENG 201, 202, 203, 204.
World Literature:
ENG 208.


All students must earn a grade of C or higher in each of their required English courses. The English department at Fredonia requires majors in English to complete a minimum of 21 credit hours of courses applied to the major at Fredonia. Thus, students transferring to Fredonia should normally expect no more than 21 credit hours earned elsewhere to apply to the major in English. English majors must complete a minor and should begin work on their minor at MCC.
FRENCH FRE 203, 204. The following transfer as upper level electives: FRE 213 and 214.

All students must complete a minor and should begin taking courses towards their minor at MCC. A maximum of 21 credit hours of transfer and/or Study Abroad courses can apply to the major at Fredonia. All students are required to take 15 credit hours of their major in residence. They must complete 9 credit hours at the 300 level or above, the senior seminar, and at least one other 400 level course at Fredonia.
GEOLOGY CHE 151, 152; GEO 101, 102; MTH 160 or 161, and 210, 211. Choose one sequence: PHY 145 & 146 or PHY 161 & 261. The physics sequence can be taken at Fredonia.

The following course transfers as an upper level major requirement: GEO 203 (GEO 330)
HISTORY One course in European History: HIS 113 or 114 or 219;  One course in American History: HIS 111 or 112; HIS 109 and one from HIS 110 or HIS 153 or HIS 154.

Minimum grade of 'C-' in History related courses.
MATH PHYSICS CSC 101 or CSC 223; MTH 210, 211, 212, 220*, 225, 230; PHY 161, 261, 262.

*MTH 220 must be a B or higher.
MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY BIO 144, 145, 155,156, 230; CHE 151,152, 251, 252; MTH 161.

A Physics sequence is required but may be completed at Fredonia: PHY 145 & 146 or PHY 161 & 261
 
MOLECULAR GENETICS BIO 155, 156, 230; CHE 151, 152, 251, 252; MTH 210, 211.

A Physics sequence is required but may be completed at Fredonia: PHY 145 & 146 or PHY 161  & 261.

The following will apply but may be taken at Fredonia:  BIO 265 or 266 or 260.  
MUSIC INDUSTRY ACC 101 and 102; BUS 220; CIS 201, COM 101; ECO 111 and 112; MTH 160; MUS 101, 109, 119, 253.

A maximum of 2 ensemble courses will apply. Students will also need an applied music/lesson course.
PHILOSOPHY PHL 101, 102, 103 or 210.
PHYSICS CSC 101 or CSC 223; MTH 210, 211, 212, 225; PHY 161, 261, 262, CHE 151, 152.

A 2.0 GPA in the set of all physics courses used to satisfy the major plus the four required math courses is required for graduation. Students must select a track and should consult the college catalog for details.
POLITICAL SCIENCE MTH 160; POS 102, 205, 206.

Students must select a concentration and should consult the college catalog for details.
PSYCHOLOGY PSY 101, 220 and MTH 162. In addition to statistics (MTH 162), students will need one additional SUNY Gen Ed Math.

Students may consider taking one additional psychology course. The following will satisfy an area degree requirement: PSY 215 (Cognitive), PSY 205 (Social), PSY 206 (Clinical) 261 (clinical) PSY 201, PSY 202, PSY 212, PSY 361 (developmental).

The following courses will transfer as upper level: PSY 109, 206. A maximum of 12 credit hrs. in PSY will apply towards major. Students are required to complete a minor and should begin preliminary courses at MCC. A minimum of 2.00 cumulative quality point average in all psychology courses. Transfer students must take at least 23 hours in Psychology at Fredonia.

Student pursing the BS Degree in Psychology: Same as above but select a biology OR chemistry focus OR Data Science emphasis. The following courses would satisfy this requirement: Biology: BIO 155, 156, CHE 151 or Chemistry: CHE 151, 152 and an additional biology elective or Data Science: CPT 101
SOCIOLOGY MTH 160 or 162; SOC 101,102.

The following transfer as 300 level courses:
SOC 202, 204, 206.
SPANISH SPA 203, 204 The following transfer as upper level electives: SPA 213 and 214.

Credits showing as accepted by MCC may not be transferable. See their

Students who have met 7/10/30 SUNY Gen Ed courses as indicated on their GETA will have satisfied the Fredonia Foundations general education requirement. Beginning Fall 2021, students may apply a maximum of 60 transfer credits at the lower division (Fredonia equivalent courses at the 100/200 level towards their baccalaureate degree). Students may apply an additional 15 credits at the upper division (Fredonia equivalent courses at the 300/400 level towards their baccalaureate degree).
