Basic Interview & Interrogation for Law Enforcement Officers Course

Program Announcement

The Monroe County Public Safety Training Facility (PSTF) will be holding a Basic Interview & Interrogation for Law Enforcement Officers Course at 1190 Scottsville Road, Rochester, NY. This course provides law enforcement officers with proven techniques that will assist in obtaining information critical to any investigation including street stops, traffic stops, violation, misdemeanor and felony investigations. Instruction will begin with victim interviews, neighborhood checks, informant interviews, developing witnesses and end with the all-important criminal interrogation. Participants will learn and develop skills through a series of lectures and classroom exercises.

Students who successfully complete this course will receive two (2) college credits from Monroe Community College.

May 4 through 8, 2026, 8:00am to 4:00pm

Prerequisites

• Full time, active duty NYS certified police officer, peace officer, or campus public safety officer

Required Attire and/or Equipment

Attire (dress code):

• Business casual, Or
• Department designated uniform of the day

Instructional Areas

Graduation Requirements

• 90% attendance (policy set by Monroe Community College)
• 70% passing grade on written examination

Course Tuition and Fees

• Tuition: $434.00 (per person)
• Estimated Student Fees: $113.00 (Student fees may vary each semester)
• Agencies will be billed directly

Note: Monroe Community College may find it necessary to revise tuition and fees as necessary and reserves the right to do so.
