Explore classes and professional development courses that are open to all.
Want to take a class without enrolling in a full degree program? At MCC, you can register
as a non-matriculated student and enroll in courses—no long-term commitment required.
This option is great if you want to:
- Try college before committing to a degree
- Take a course for work or personal growth
- Complete a class to transfer back to another college
Our pre-collegiate programs are designed to teach and support high school students. We
especially focus on supporting at-risk youth in Rochester to build confidence, earn
college credit, and see a clear path to their future. Explore our programs for high
schoolers:
- College Now: A dual enrollment program where high schoolers take MCC classes at their high school
- Liberty Partnerships: Academic and personal support services to at-risk youth in grades 7-12 in the Rochester
City School District (RCSD)
- Upward Bound: A federally funded program that prepares RCSD students for graduation and college
If you want to build skills or get ahead in your career, MCC can help. The Economic
& Workforce Development Center offers a variety of programs, including:
- Apprenticeships
- Certificate programs
- Skilled trades programs
- Short professional development courses
You can learn in areas like business, customer service, technology, health care, and

Agriculture & Life Sciences Institute
MCC’s Agriculture & Life Sciences Institute helps farmers, landowners, and local towns
make informed decisions about land use. The program offers:
- Workshops and on-site consultations
- Help understanding land laws and zoning
- Support for farm business planning and marketing
- Guidance on farmland protection and sustainability
It's designed for community members who want practical, easy-to-use support.
Our Public Safety Training Facility train our first responders to keep our communities
safe. We offer programs and courses for:
- Law enforcement
- Firefighters
- Emergency Medical Technicians
