Are you an in-service teacher looking to earn supplementary or additional teaching certification in another field of study? Our Microcredentials for Teachers provide the critical knowledge and relevant coursework to cover a majority of the New York State teaching competencies and learning standards. Instead of piecing together courses from multiple institutions, you can develop the foundation you need with one program at MCC.
*NYSED does not pre-approve any coursework for supplementary or additional teacher certifications. Teachers must submit their transcripts, and proof of additional certification requirements such as Content Specialty Test (CST) results, to NYSED directly to apply for these certifications. Prospective students are encouraged to reach out to the NYSED Office of Teaching Initiatives or Regional Certification Office for more information on certification pathways and the application process. NYSED requires a grade of C or higher in subject area classes in order for them to count towards certification.
