MCC’s Music Performance A.S. degree program helps you turn your passion for music into skill and experience. You’ll train with expert faculty, take private lessons, and perform regularly in ensembles while building a strong foundation in music. Designed for transfer, this program prepares you for a bachelor’s degree and a wide range of music careers.

What You’ll Learn

In our Music Performance program, you’ll learn how to: 

  • Perform confidently on your voice or instrument in solo and group settings 
  • Read, write, and understand music using theory and aural skills 
  • Develop strong technique through lessons and regular practice 
  • Perform in ensembles and gain real experience on stage 
  • Improve listening skills like sight reading, sight singing, and transcription 
  • Understand music styles and history across different time periods 
  • Collaborate with other musicians and perform as part of a team
