Scholarships are one of the best ways to lower the cost of attending Monroe Community College. There are options for students with academic, athletic,
or artistic strengths, as well as specific fields of study. There are also options
for students with demonstrated financial need or facing unique circumstances. With hundreds of scholarships available,
you’re sure to find one for you.
These scholarships are funded through MCC and supported by the MCC Foundation, departments,
and programs. This is the easiest place to find scholarships designed specifically
for MCC students.

Governmental Scholarships
These programs are offered by government agencies and often have specific eligibility
and post-graduation requirements. Common programs for MCC students include:
- NYS Excelsior Scholarship: Covers tuition at New York public colleges for eligible students who meet income,
residency, and post-graduation requirements.
- Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC): Offers scholarships that help pay for college in exchange for military training and
service after graduation.
- SUNY Reconnect: Tuition, fees, books, and supplies are covered for eligible adults in certain degree
programs.
Private Scholarships
Private scholarships are funded by businesses, nonprofit organizations, unions, and
community groups. You usually apply independently, but awards can significantly reduce
