Apprentice Training: Machine Trades

MCC’s Apprentice Training: Machine Trades degree program provides essential technical instruction through hands-on skill training, theory-based coursework, and cutting-edge manufacturing technology. Earn up to 24 college credits for on-the-job training, accelerating your path toward your degree. Whether your goal is to become a journey worker, move into engineering design or programming, or take on leadership roles, this program provides the foundation to get there. Please note that enrollment requires participation in an approved apprenticeship program.

In MCC’s Precision Machining degree program, you’ll prepare to work in metalworking fields such as mold making, machine building, tool making, die making, CNC machining, or other manufacturing areas. Learn the core techniques of precision metalworking in MCC’s fast-track Precision Machining certificate program. You’ll take interactive classes and develop the practical skills needed to enter an apprenticeship program in mold making, machine building, tool and die making, or launch a career in production machining immediately after graduation.

Microcredential Programs

MCC’s microcredentials are designed for quick entry into the workforce. In just six months, you’ll build a strong foundation in machine theory and apply what you learn in the machining labs. And, if you want to continue advancing your skills, your microcredential credits can be applied toward a certificate or degree program.

Basic Machining

Gain the hands-on training and foundational knowledge needed to launch a career in advanced manufacturing in just three courses! Designed for quick entry into the workforce, the Basic Machining microcredential combines essential theory in blueprint reading and machine operations with practical lab experience, working on vertical mills and manual lathes. You’ll be prepared for in-demand roles such as tool room attendant, machine operator, entry-level machinist, and more.

MICRO

CNC Operator

Start —or upskill—your career in advanced manufacturing fast. Through a unique blend of 150 hours of paid, on-the-job training and hands-on instruction, you’ll gain the skills needed to start—or upskill—your career fast. You’ll learn to read blueprints, maintain tight tolerances, and adjust CNC mill and lathe operations with confidence. You’ll also earn two industry-recognized HAAS certifications: Basic Mill Operator and Basic Lathe Operator.

Manufacturing Apprentice Pathway

MCC’s Manufacturing Pre-Apprentice/Youth Apprentice Pathway program is designed for high school youth apprentices and pre-apprentice students. You’ll take key classes in machining, blueprint reading, and hands-on lab work, alongside 150 hours of supervised, on-the-job training. Whether you’re looking to enter a registered apprenticeship or step directly into a manufacturing career, this pathway builds the skills and confidence you need to succeed from day one.
