Course Description
This course will explore the American education system through a social justice perspective. It will focus on the foundations of the American education system, with emphasis on the historical, philosophical, and socio-cultural roots of education. In addition, students will explore the influences of the political, economic, legal and ethical bases of American education and will research and present on relevant educational policies. Within this framework, contemporary educational values and issues will be critically examined. Three class hours.
