ESL-158

ESOL: Oral Communication

This course focuses on the skills needed for effective communication in social and academic settings, including cultural differences in non-verbal communication. Students improve listening skills and oral fluency through discussion, role play, interviews, oral presentations, and listening activities using various media.

Prerequisites

Score of 54 or higher on CELSA placement test; or ESL 100 and ESL 120 each with a grade of C or better; or ESL 126 with a grade of C or better; or permission of program coordinator. Three class hours.
