Working with Trauma Informed Care Skills

This course will provide an introduction to trauma and principles of trauma informed care. It will examine the definitions/types and nature/scope of trauma and its impact on individuals, families and communities. It will also explore how trauma informed care informs the delivery of services and interaction with persons in various settings such as human services, social work, education, medical care, addiction treatment, and criminal justice. Students will develop, discuss, analyze and practice aspects of trauma informed care.

Prerequisites

ENG 101 or ENG 200.
