Faculty Senate Resolution Proposals from NEG and APC
Dear Respected Colleagues,
Please review the attached documents for future senate action items regarding two Faculty Senate Resolution changes.
NEG Resolution proposal - To adopt a Resolution outlining the procedure to Revise a Resolution.
- Rationale: At this point in time, we do not have a written procedure for Faculty Senate Resolution revisions (we have been going by past practice).
- Background: The proposal is modeled after the Senate Bylaw Amendment procedure (both the proposal and the Bylaw are in the attachment).
We especially seek feedback on the question of the voting percent needed for passage of a Resolution revision. Current practice is - 50% majority vote of the voting Senators with the vote held during a regular Faculty Senate meeting. There is a discussion board set up in the Senate BlackBoard space for your comments and feedback; you can also send your comments directly to Mary Timmons, NEG Chair.
APC Resolution proposal – the proposal adds a few clarifying statements and minor edits to Resolution 1.1.5, 1.2.4, and 1.2.5. Please send Rollo Fisher, APC Chair your feedback.
Thank you,
NEG & APC Committees
