The 5 Days of Brightspace Gradebook: Day 5
Miscellaneous Gradebook Tips
It's the last day of our Brightspace Gradebook series. We hope you found some of these tips helpful. Please check your gradebooks carefully.
Today we will cover some optional adjustments that you can make in your gradebook.
- Go to the Grade Center on the navbar.
- Then click on the Grades tab.
- Then go to the Manage Grades tab
- If using the native Brightspace tools, make sure your columns are associated as needed. In a migration from Blackboard, typically the quiz and assignment columns are associated, but the discussion columns are not.
- If you find that you need to add a manual grade item or a new category, you have the ability to add extra columns and categories as needed.
- Consider adjusting your own personal display settings. While the setup wizard allows you to adjust your student's display settings, you can adjust your own display settings in the Settings area.
- Feel free to review our video on entering in grades manually, grading assignments, and discussions.
The following videos will give you a quick tour of how to do the suggested tasks above:
- How to Associate Items (Video: 3 min)
- How to Add new Items or Category (Video: 2 min)
- Adjust Your Personal Display Settings (Video: 1 min)
- How to Add Grades, Grade Assignments and Discussions (Video: 4 min)
All gradebooks are unique, so carefully make sure your grades look appropriate before entering your final grades into Banner at the end of the semester.
