Seeking a Co-Director for the Healthy Hero Summer Camp

The Be a Healthy Hero Summer Camp is one of the largest camps for kids in Grades K-5 who live in the Rochester City School District – and MCC has been its exclusive home for more than 10 years!

Under the leadership of Dr. Elizabeth Kelly (Health & Physical Education), the Camp offers approximately 750 campers a full-day, five-week summer program focused on improving physical fitness, nutrition, and healthy behaviors while helping to prevent summer learning loss.

The Healthy Hero Camp is truly a team effort and would not be possible without support from various MCC offices, including facilities, campus events, public safety, Sodexo, athletics, and more!

Now, MCC is excited to offer the campus community a unique opportunity. The Healthy Hero Camp is seeking a current 10-month MCC employee to serve as the Camp’s Co-Director. Example responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating camper registration, logistics, and transportation
  • Managing the Camp’s budget
  • Serving as the primary liaison to campus events, public safety, facilities, housekeeping, and Sodexo
  • Handling employee relations
  • Securing required permits and handling all purchasing
  • Collaborating with the other Co-Director on Camp staff recruitment and training and day-to-day Camp operations
  • Overseeing planning for the following summer’s Camp

This position offers generous compensation. Training and ongoing support will be provided.

Interested in learning more? Email Liz Kelly (ekelly@monroecc.edu) or call 585-292-2854.

Help bring fun and joy to kids this summer by being a part of the Healthy Hero Camp!
