Damon City Campus’ Rochester AmeriCorps program has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Rochester Area Community Foundation. This funding goes toward the program’s non-federal match and allows AmeriCorps members to be placed at host site organizations that are unable to cover the required cost-sharing amount. Forty-one members, eight of whom are funded through a stimulus grant, will begin their terms of service in September. Each will complete at least 1,700 hours of service to the community.
