This spring, the Tutoring and Academic Assistance Center (TAAC) will be hosting an Academic Coaching and Writing Workshop Series at Brighton and Downtown.

We would like to welcome all today, March 1, for our next Academic Coaching workshop, "Getting the Most Out of Your Textbook." Join us at the Downtown Campus, in Room 600 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, or join us on Zoom (see Zoom information below).

At Brighton, join us today, March 1, for our next Writing workshop, "The Anatomy of a Paper." Join us at the Brighton Campus, in Room 11-110 or on Zoom (see Zoom information below).

Do you ever feel overwhelmed with the amount of information textbooks contain?  Do you have a hard time figuring out what information is important?  This workshop will help you learn how to become an active reader and provide strategies to help you read textbooks more effectively.  Effective reading strategies can ensure that you understand course material, come to class prepared, and perform better on class assignments and tests.

Do you find it difficult to organize your thoughts or get stuck on how to get started on a writing assignment?  This workshop will walk you through the writing formula and the basic anatomy of an essay by breaking down each section. Learn how to connect each step together to create a structured essay.
