Summit Tackling Local Nurse Educator Shortage Draws Media Attention

WHAM-TV and WROC-TV interviewed Dr. Robin Cole Jr., vice president of Economic and Workforce Development and Career Technical Education, about the critical shortage of nurse educators impacting the Finger Lakes region and some of the possible solutions discussed at an MCC-organized summit on Aug. 25. to create a sustainable workforce model.

The daylong summit, “Working Together to Overcome the Local Health Care Workforce Crisis: Pipeline and Education,” brought together approximately 85 representatives across industry, academia and government.  Qualified nurse educators are in high demand at a time when the need for CNAs, LPNs and RNs continues growing. Results and findings from the summit will be documented in a report.
